Podcast referral launch templates for hosts
Copy and adapt host reads, show notes, newsletter announcements, reminders, and personal share messages for milestones or a leaderboard contest.
You do not need a different campaign pitch for every channel. Keep the reward and next step consistent, then adjust the length to fit an episode, email, or message.
Before you copy a template
Replace every bracketed placeholder with your own details. Use your public refer.fm/[show-slug] URL in owner announcements; ambassadors use their personal link when sharing with friends. Select Go live and check the public page before announcing that listeners can join. Saving your setup does not launch it.
Choose the milestone versions for ongoing rewards and the leaderboard versions for a contest with a deadline and fixed winner count. Your saved offer and every announcement should agree. For the complete preparation checklist, use the podcast referral launch playbook.
1. In-episode host reads
Read these aloud and adjust for your pace and the length of your show name and URL. The timings are approximate.

5. A personal message listeners can adapt
Encourage genuine recommendations to people who might enjoy the episode. The listener should replace the final placeholder with their own personal sharing link, not the owner’s program URL.
I thought you’d enjoy [show or episode] because [personal reason]. Here’s my link: [personal sharing link]. I’m taking part in the show’s referral program, so an eligible referral through it can count toward a reward for me. No pressure—this made me think of you.
Check the message against the actual offer
- Replace every placeholder and read the message aloud.
- Check the reward, referral goal or winner count, and delivery promise.
- For leaderboards, state the exact closing time and time zone. The dashboard’s selected end date is the last full UTC day.
- Open your public program page after going live.
- Do not promise a verified listen or subscription from every referral. Read how referral credit works.
